Kristen Darbyshire was once the author and illustrator of many unpublished picture books. As it turns out, this is no longer entirely true! Dutton has decided to publish her very first picture book, Put It on the List. Kristen is just beginning work with her fantastic editor. The tiny saga follows a family of chickens who forget to use their grocery list. Grocery trauma ensues.
Kristen is a native of the New York State Capital Region, although her heart belongs to Brooklyn as well. She has a cat, a husband, and a kid. Kristen loves the cat and the kid enormously, although she is allergic to one of them. Her husband does dishes, which makes him not only cute, but indispensable. During the day, Kristen teaches art to 7th and 8th graders. Luckily, Kristen has a distinctly 8th grade sense of humor.
